Adopt-A-Family, the newest component of Futures for Families, has already taken off. The St. Edwards Mission Outreach Team from Louisville, Kentucky, became the first group to join Adopt-A-Family and was able to assist four families in their rebuilding needs.
Bill Kolbush was given a new kitchen countertop, a new toilet, and supplies for several projects. Jerry Patterson received lumber and money for new air-conditioning units. Obie Forest will be able to use the money she was given to purchase new furniture and Robin Kea has received new living room, dining room, and bedroom furniture. St. Edwards donated a total of $4595 to these four families. What a great way to kick off Adopt-A-Family!
Futures for Families is thrilled that St. Edwards was able to get the Adopt-A-Family program off to a wonderful start, but there are still families on the Gulf Coast who need help. We would love to welcome your group into Adopt-A-Family! Donations from your group could go toward buying new appliances or funding rebuilding projects—the possibilities are endless. Whatever your fundraising capabilities, your group will be able to help a family in need.
If you would like to adopt a family, please contact Camp Victor at 228.875.0313 or Mission on the Bay at 228.466.2900.
